Accelsiors, today announced its inaugural Biosimilars Forum. This 2-day event, taking place on 6 - 7 October 2016, will provide a series of informative lectures and networking opportunities pertaining to the clinical and statistical challenges of Biosimilar development.
“Challenges in the Assessment of Similarity or Equivalence of Biologicals and Complex Drugs”
Our guest lecturer, Dr Shein-Chung Chow from the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Duke University School of Medicine, will present a series of lectures on the design and analysis of biosimilar studies, providing an overview of current regulatory requirements for assessing biosimilarity of biosimilar products and giving a detailed description of the fundamental differences and assumptions between the chemical generic products and follow-on biologics. This special event is planned to be adjacent to another important international meeting in Budapest: “Challenges in the Assessment of Similarity or Equivalence of Biologicals and Complex Drugs,” 10 - 11 October 2016 (SRACD 2016), and will be hosted in Accelsiors’ Global Headquarters in Budapest, Hungary.

- Accelsiors to Host an ISCB Short Course by Stephen Senn: Statistical Issues in Drug Development

A two-day short course will be held on 14-15 October in Budapest by Stephen Senn (Head of Competence Center for Methodology and Statistics at Luxembourg Institute of Health).
The event covers important issues and controversies with which statisticians working in drug development are confronted. It will be particularly useful for those who are interested in fruitful dialogue between medical statisticians and the life scientists with whom they collaborate. It should be of interest not only to statisticians but also to those who have to work with them. Covered topics will include: causality in clinical trials, approaches to inference, allocating patients to treatment, measuring treatment effects, the use of baseline and covariate information, determining sample size and personalised medicine.
